The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has announced that it will resume trade union action from 8.00 am tomorrow (04) based on several demands, including unfair transfers of doctors.
In the past few days, the Government Medical Officers Association has also implemented several token strikes based on these demands.
Speaking to the media about the current situation, the Secretary of the association, Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, said that intern doctors will not apply for government service appointments before 12.00 pm tomorrow (04) as per the orders of the Minister of Health.
He said that intern doctors have been threatened by various parties and that the Minister had informed them to complain about it, but accordingly, the first complaint should be lodged against Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.
