Recently, the Kurunduwatta Police received a complaint that 6 printer toners worth about 300,000 rupees were stolen from the warehouse of the National Police Commission’s accounts department.
This complaint was made by the Management Services Officer of the National Police Commission, who is in charge of the warehouse.
According to the complaint, 8 toners were received on May 9th, and one of them was released to the Police Commission’s internal department.
On June 9th, after an officer from the Public Complaints Department of the Police Commission asked if the toners were available, the complainant found them missing. She then informed the heads of the institutions and complained to the police. The price of one of the missing toners is stated to be Rs. 47,200.
An investigation has been conducted into the complaint, and fingerprint examiners from the Crime Records Division have also been called in to conduct investigations.
