The Chief of Staff of the President, Sagala Ratnayake, said while attending the United National Party’s May Day commemoration, that it will be possible to lower gas prices in a few days.
He also emphasized that taking into consideration how the economy will strengthen in the future, steps will be taken to stop the release of fuel according to the QR code, and plans are being made to relax the existing import restrictions.
He said that inflation, which was 70% when President Ranil Wickremesinghe took over the country, has now reached 35% and by the end of this year, it is hoped to bring it down to a single digit.
