The Colombo High Court today sentenced Gania Bannister Francis, an employee of the Swiss Embassy in Colombo, to one year imprisonment and suspended it for 5 years.
She was sentenced after admitting that the statement made before the court in 2019 that she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted was false.
