The Colombo High Court today ordered the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to lift the travel ban imposed on former Minister Udaya Gammanpila.
This step was taken following a request made to the court through a motion that the travel ban had not been lifted even though he was acquitted and released by the Colombo High Court on March 24.
Gammanpila was acquitted and released by the court on charges of criminal breach of trust regarding the shares of a local company worth Rs. 20 million of an Australian national on March 24.
