Our reporters say that queues can be seen at fuel stations in some areas due to the war conflicts in the Middle East. This situation has arisen due to reports on social media that there will be a fuel shortage.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy says that it denies social media reports that there may be a fuel shortage in the country.
Issuing a statement, the Ministry said that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation currently has sufficient oil stocks to meet the country’s needs for the next two months.
The Ministry also said that steps have already been taken to receive the ordered petroleum shipments without any hindrance.
