The Kandana Police have launched an investigation into a shooting incident that took place this morning near the Kandana Public Market in the Kandana Police Division by two unidentified persons who arrived on a motorcycle.
The gunmen targeted two people in a car and opened fire. The two people in the car were injured and admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment, while one person who was receiving treatment died.
The deceased is a 50-year-old resident of the Kandana area. The injured person is Sameera Manahara, who served as a personal secretary to former Minister Mangala Samaraweera. The reason for the shooting has not been revealed yet.
