Firearms and bullets buried in Manamperi’s mistress’s land

Police have recovered a stock of firearms and ammunition during a search operation conducted in the Middeniya area.

The search operation was carried out based on information provided by Sampath Manamperi, who is in custody in connection with an ice drug incident. During the raid, a gold-colored T-56 magazine, 115 T-56 bullets, a hand grenade and a broken 9 mm pistol were also found.

Police say the suspect buried these weapons on the land where his mistress’s house is located on the 3rd.

Sampath Manamperi, a former local government candidate who is under the custody of the Police Narcotics Bureau, surrendered to the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court on the 17th. He is facing charges in connection with the ice drug and two containers found in Middeniya.
