Two more farmers have sold part of their paddy harvest to the Paddy Marketing Board’s Nikaweratiya paddy warehouse at the government’s guaranteed price.
The board’s acting manager for the North Western Zone says that one farmer sold 398 kilos of Samba paddy and another farmer sold 610 kilos of Nadu paddy at the government’s guaranteed price.
Earlier, a farmer in the Ampara area had sold 650 kilos of paddy to the government. Accordingly, the total amount of paddy purchased by the government is 1658 kilos.
