Environmental organizations and politicians should be responsible for the flood.

State Minister Pramita Bandara Thennakone said in Parliament yesterday that the government has presented permanent solutions to prevent floods, but due to environmental organizations and certain politicians, they have not been able to implement them.

The Minister of State stated this in response to the request made by members of the ruling party as well as the opposition to provide a permanent solution to the flood situation that affected the south, Kalutara and Gampaha district.

He also said that 26 people have died due to bad weather conditions and 130,021 people in 33,422 families have been affected so far.
