NPP Economic Council member Sunil Hadunnetthi said that by presenting the Economic Transformation Bill, President Ranil Wickremesinghe is trying to open the door to economic killers like billionaires Elon Musk, George Soros and James Packer.
In a recent meeting with the business community in Badulla, he said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe had announced that Elon Musk would come to Sri Lanka to provide WIFI.
“Ranil said in 2015 that he would give free WiFi to everyone. Now he has dropped the word free and said he will give WiFi in 2024. Elon Musk will never give free WiFi,” he said.
He also said that Ranil Wickramasinghe had previously announced that James Packer would come to invest in Sri Lanka. But he never came with an investment. Hadunnetti said that a publicity campaign is being implemented through a separate company using government funds to show that foreign investors are coming to the country.
