The Public Utilities Commission has approved the reduction of electricity tariffs from midnight today. This fee reduction is to be done on a per unit basis.
Accordingly, the current fee of consumers using less than 30 units will be reduced by 33.3% , and for electricity consumers between 31-60 units, the fees will be reduced by 28%.
The tariff for consumers with 61-90 units and consumption has been reduced by 30% while the electricity tariff for consumers between 91-180 units will be reduced by 24%.
Electricity charges have been reduced by 18% for domestic customers above 180 units, 33% for religious places, 18% for hotels and industrial sectors, 23% for public sector and 22% for public sector.
