Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said in Parliament today (20) that he hopes to give more relief to the electricity bill than the previouly expected .
He added that the proposal for tariff revision will be submitted to the Electricity Board Public Utility Commission today or tomorrow.
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera made a special statement at the beginning of the work of the House and said:
“The Cabinet has given their proposal to the Public Utilities Commission that the electricity bill should be revised. A request was made from various parties to submit proposals regarding the electricity bill. Members of the opposition, including the leader of the opposition, were also invited. But he was informed that he could not participate that day. Various parties were involved.
In any case, we hope to make a reduction than expected.”
