It is reported that there are preparations to disconnect the electricity and water bills of the house located on Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07, where former President Mahinda Rajapaksa resided. On the 7th, officials of the Water Supply Board and the Electricity Board went there to disconnect the water supply.
The security officers present at the time said that they would inform the responsible parties, so the officials returned.
The chairman of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Chandana Bandara, has told the media that the house has an outstanding water bill of Rs. 600,000. In addition, it is reported that there is an outstanding electricity bill of nearly Rs. 100,000.
The house located on Wijerama Mawatha has not been officially handed over yet. Mahinda Rajapaksa’s party says that after the government’s inventory inspectors separate the items belonging to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, they will remove them and hand over the house.
