The services of Dr. Rukshan Bellanage, Deputy Director of the Colombo National Hospital, have been suspended with immediate effect.
The letter issued in this regard states that his services have been suspended for making statements to the media without approval, acting in a manner that has created a controversial situation in the country through various media, as a government medical officer holding a responsible position.
Accordingly, due to the aforementioned misconduct committed by him, he has been suspended from duty with immediate effect in accordance with the order of the Secretary of the Health Services Committee of the Public Service Commission No. HSC/DIS/070/2025 and the letter dated 2025.12.17, in accordance with Section 31:1:15 of Chapter XLVIII of the Establishments Code.
