The Chairman of the Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijeratne, states that serious problems have arisen for passengers due to police officers inspecting spare parts of running buses on the highway.
His association has informed the police about this situation and he says that he hopes to discuss this with the Inspector General of Police in the future. Although he is not against inspecting spare parts of buses, he suggests that it is more appropriate to inspect spare parts when the buses are parked at the bus stops to avoid inconvenience to passengers.
