With the emergence of issues regarding Speaker Ashoka Ranwala’s PhD, a social discourse has been created regarding the educational qualifications of Members of Parliament. In such a situation, We quote a post that Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvi Sallee had posted on his social media page about his educational and professional qualifications.
Start of quote.
I believe it is essential to maintain trust and accountability in leadership. In that spirit, I wish to share my professional qualifications openly.
I hold an MBBS degree from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, completed in 1986, and a Diploma in Laryngo Otorhinology (DLO) from the University of Colombo.
I am a registered medical practitioner with the Sri Lanka Medical Council and have practiced medicine for 38 years.
My career began in government service, where I worked in various hospitals across the provinces and in Colombo. After 12 years of public service, I transitioned to general medical practice to continue serving the community in a broader capacity.
By sharing my qualifications, I aim to reaffirm the confidence of the people who have placed their trust in me.
Thank you,
Dr. Rizvie Salih
Deputy Speaker of Parliament
