It is reported that the drug stock worth over 03 billion rupees, which was recently seized by the Sri Lanka Navy and brought to the Dikovita Fisheries Harbor, is to be referred to the Government Analyst and an analysis report will be called. The report is scheduled to be called following an order made by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka Bodaragama yesterday (02).
The 263 kilograms of drugs found in the possession of eleven fishermen were presented to court under tight security by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
The multi-day fishing vessel carrying eleven suspected fishermen was seized by the Sri Lanka Navy on January 25 with 109 kilograms and 422 grams of ‘ice’ drugs and 112 kilograms and 258 grams of heroin.
