Court of Appeal President Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne is reportedly set to resign from his post by the end of this month, in the face of the National People’s Power government planning to move an impeachment motion against him.
Following discussions between Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday, the Attorney General’s Department has decided to expedite the disposal of 11 ‘serious criminal cases’.
