Complaint to CID from person who allegedly subjected student to mental torture

The owner of a private tutoring class, who is accused of subjecting a 16-year-old student who committed suicide in Kotahena to mental torture, has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday.

He has requested that a proper investigation be conducted into the propaganda being deliberately made by a group of people defaming him.

He says that since the deceased student attended the class while ill, he only informed her parents to attend the classes after she recovered.

Despite this, he says that he has been inconvenienced by the harsh criticism being leveled at him on social media using his pictures.

The 16-year-old student, Dilshi Amshika, who lived in a Kotahena Galpottha Street apartment complex, committed suicide by jumping from the 6th floor of the apartment complex on the 29th.

Her parents said that she committed suicide because she was suffering from severe mental stress and that it was due to the sexual abuse committed by a teacher while she was studying at a school in Bambalapitiya and the mental pressure she was subjected to by the owner of this tutoring class.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has taken steps to send the suspected teacher who has been accused of the student’s suicide on compulsory leave.
