It is reported that the Election Commission has started an investigation against the Municipal Commissioner of the Colombo Municipal Council, Bhadrani Jayawardene, who invited a group of local government election candidates, including Rosy Senanayake and Sagala Ratnayake Senior Advisor to the President and UNP West Colombo organizer, to an event held in Colombo 12 area.
According to the report, the municipal commissioner has invited the politicians to the opening ceremony of a community hall held last 24.
Additional Election Commissioner B.P.C. Kularatne had written to Colombo Municipal Commissioner Bhadrani Jayawardene to hold this event without the participation of politicians, but she has ignored it.
