The Criminal Investigation Department has reported to the court that it is investigating the arrest of former minister Prasanna Ranaweera, a former member of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha, a businessman and a lawyer.
Former minister Mervyn Silva and three others, including a former vice-chairman of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha, have been arrested and remanded in custody in connection with this incident.
These investigations are being conducted in connection with the sale of a government-owned land in the Kiribathgoda area in 2010 using forged documents.
