It is reported that Chairman of the Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha, Kasun Munasinghe, who was produced before the court in connection with an incident of assaulting the secretary of the Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha, has been released on two surety bonds of Rs. 500,000 each.
The Chairman of the Mathugama Pradeshiya Sabha, who is affiliated with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, surrendered to the Mathugama Assistant Superintendent of Police this morning (31) in connection with the incident.
He was arrested there and handed over to the Mathugama Police and then produced before the Mathugama Magistrate’s Court.
The arrest was made following a complaint filed by its secretary, Nelu Nishanthi Iddagoda, to the Mathugama Police that Chairman Kasun Munasinghe had threatened him.
