Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Sanjeewa Edirimanne says that the government’s behavior in the face of the disaster caused by Cyclone Ditva is at an optimal level.
He stated that the way compensation has been approved for physical damage is good and that it is a great blessing.
The former MP said this at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna media conference today (08).
“The government’s behavior after this accident has been somewhat commendable. For example, the way the government approves compensation for the physical property damage is being done well. That is a great merit. However, this merit cannot cover the sin of not intervening to minimize the huge loss of life that has occurred.”
However, the former MP also asked what value the current government gave to a group that expressed very scientific views on disaster management when it was in opposition after taking office.
