Opposition MPs Mano Ganesan and Kavinda Jayawardena today demanded that former President Maithripala Sirisena be immediately arrested and questioned regarding his statement that he knew the mastermind of the Easter Sunday attack.
“The police should question the former president immediately,” MP Ganesan told reporters.
“The whole world is waiting to find out who is behind the Easter Sunday attack, so former President Sirisena should reveal all the details,” he added.
Member of Parliament Kavinda Jayawardene said that he has already submitted a complaint against Sirisena to the Criminal Investigation Department. “We want the former president to be immediately arrested and brought to court.
The MPs said they had already discussed the issue with Church leaders in Sri Lanka.
