The Appropriation Bill for the year 2026 is scheduled to be tabled in Parliament today (07) at 1.30 pm by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the Minister in charge of Finance.
Thereafter, the full debate on the Appropriation Bill (Budget Debate) is scheduled to be held from 8 November to 5 December 2025.
The Appropriation Bill for the year 2026, which was presented to Parliament for first reading on 26 September 2025, is scheduled to be debated for second reading for 6 days from 8 to 14 November. Thereafter, the budget second reading vote will be held on 14 November at 6.00 pm.
The Committee Stage debate on the Appropriation Bill for the year 2026 is scheduled to be held for 17 days, including 3 Saturdays, from November 15 to December 5. Thereafter, the Third Reading Division of the Appropriation Bill will be held on December 5 at 6:00 p.m.
