The Borella Devi Balika Roundabout to D.S. Senanayake Junction has been closed to traffic due to cracks and a risk of sinking this morning.
It is said that the Colombo-bound lanes have been closed as repairs are being carried out at the site.
As this may cause disruption to traffic on the road, the police are requesting drivers using the Colombo-bound road to use alternative routes as much as possible.
