When the case of purchasing substandard doses of human immunoglobulin injections was summoned before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today (11), three suspects including former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella were released on bail.
Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella was arrested last February 02. He was produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court on February 3 and was remanded in custody and was sentenced seven months later.
Keheliya Rambukwella, who was the Minister of Environment at the time of his arrest, resigned from his position by writing to President Ranil Wickramasinghe on February 06.
Keheliya Rambukwella, the former secretary of the Ministry of Health and four other suspects were rejected by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court and ordered to remand them until the end of the trial.
