”Are the companies that were called corrupt then good now?” Namal asks the President

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Namal Rajapaksa has expressed concern over the President’s decision to sign agreements with Indian and Chinese companies that the National People’s Power (NPP) criticized when it was in opposition, calling them ‘corrupt’.

“During the previous government, when these Chinese and Indian companies were interested in investing in Sri Lanka, it was this National People’s power (NPP) that stood up to call these companies controversial and corrupt. However, now, it seems that the National People’s Power (NPP) is swallowing its own words and taking credit for signing foreign direct investment agreements with them,” the MP said.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake should explain to the public why they opposed these foreign direct investments then and why they tarnished the image of these Indian and Chinese companies, he said.

However, he praised President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for his visits to India and China.
