The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (6) ordered that Anusha Pelpita, a former ministry secretary who has been remanded in connection with the embezzlement of assets, be further remanded until the 20th.
This order was issued after considering the facts presented by the Bribery Commission and the suspect’s lawyers.
Anusha Pelpita, a former Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, was recently arrested and produced before the Court by the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption for failing to disclose how he acquired nearly four hundred million rupees.
