NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today in Parliament that opposition leader Sajith Premadasa raised the same issue he was going to raise in Parliament regarding university non-academic staff.
He further said that it was surprising that the opposition leader raised the same question in front of him that he had submitted to the opposition leader’s office to raise in parliament under Standing Orders 27/2.
The Speakers office said in a speech that two questions had been submitted to the office of the general secretary and one question was to be asked by the leader of the opposition at 11.40 am. He further praised that the other question was delivered at 12.10 in the afternoon and it was supposed to be asked by National People’s Power Member of Parliament Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake asked whether the question could be submitted directly to the Secretary General of the Parliament without going through the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.
The speaker said that if the MP wants, he can submit the question directly to the Secretary General.
MP Dissanayake said, “We usually send questions through the office of the leader of the opposition. I think it is better to send them directly to the general secretary. This is a child’s game. I feel sorry for him,” said MP Anura Dissanayake.
