A questionable situation has arisen regarding the educational qualifications of another Minister of the National People’s Power. It concerns the ‘Doctoral’ degree of Urban Development and Housing Minister Anura Karunathilaka.
It is said that Minister Anura Karunathilaka is a Master’s degree holder and not a Doctoral degree holder. According to the Parliament website, he is a Master’s degree holder.
However, in the National List MP list submitted by the National People’s Power for the general election, his name is mentioned as Dr. Anura Karunathilaka. In addition, his name is also mentioned in the National List MP list of the National People’s Power as Dr. Anura Karunathilaka.
Unconfirmed sources say that the Minister is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree at the University of Kelaniya and hopes to submit his thesis in the future.
