Another Leopard dies in Norwood.

The Nallathanniya Wildlife Office says that a body of a dead Leopard caught in a trap was found in the tea garden of Norwood area.

This unfortunate incident took place in the Rockwood estate belonging to the Norwood police domain. Wildlife sources say that the Leopard’s body was decomposed even when it was found.

According to the report, the Leopard’s body was presented to Hatton Magistrate and the body was sent to Randenigala Wildlife Veterinary Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Dr. Akalank Pinadeniya of Randenigala Wildlife Veterinary Hospital said that Leopard get caught in the wire nets set up by hunters in the tea estate to hunt wild pigs, and the plantation superintendents and plantation workers have been informed to remove such nets set up by the hunters in the vicinity of the tea plantations. .
