The Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations met in Parliament on 08th under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Namal Rajapakse. At that time, it is reported that there was a discussion about preparing a system for Sri Lankans living abroad to vote.
The officials of the National Election Commission pointed out that the Election Commission is ready to prepare the necessary mechanism according to the recent recommendation given by the legislature.
Also, they pointed out that a method of registering to vote through online (on-line registration) technology has also been prepared, and through that, Sri Lankans living abroad can also register to vote.
