According to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Public Security, the issuance of passports has to be limited due to the limited number of blank passports currently available to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
In the meantime, it is mentioned in the announcement that a stock of electronic passports has been ordered and the stock is expected to be received at the end of October.
The ministry statement further stated that the public is kindly requested to apply for passports only for essential reasons.
