As former General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Dayasiri Jayasekara has acted in violation of the party constitution, the party’s executive member H.M.P. Herath has reportedly requested the party leadership to take immediate disciplinary action against him.
He has made this request in a letter addressed to the Senior Vice President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Nimal Siripala de Silva.
The letter states that during his tenure as the party General Secretary, party funds were used to deposit the deposits of members of other political parties without any approval from the Central Committee.
H.M.P. Herath states in his letter that, at a time when he was removed from the post of General Secretary and in a context where the party’s activities were inactive, he had signed various agreements posing as the General Secretary for the 2024 General Election without the general approval of the party, which is illegal.
