President Anura Dissanayake has stated that the Mannar wind power project, which was to be started by companies owned by Indian businessman Gautam Adani, will not be implemented, says Lakmal Fernando, Secretary of the Sri Lanka National Chamber of Commerce.
He also said that three local companies have agreed to supply electricity at a lower price than that company, adding that the country’s power generation is being owned by foreign companies.
He further stated that in order to reduce the cost of electricity generation, the use of fuel should be reduced and other renewable energy sources should be used, and modern technology should be used to generate natural energy.
