A van transporting school children has veered off the road in the Ragala area and crashed, injuring a schoolgirl and a woman, including the driver, who were travelling in the van.
The accident occurred in the Ragala Brookside Watta area on the Nuwara Eliya-Ragala main road. Due to a sudden technical fault in the van, which was being driven at high speed, the van overturned and came to rest against a tree.
Ragala Police say that 06 school children and the mother of a school child were also in the van at the time of the accident. The van has also been severely damaged in the accident.
