A temporary solution to the crisis of issuing passports

The Department of Immigration has worked to introduce a temporary solution to the crisis that had arisen due to the delay in issuing passports.

Accordingly, steps have been taken since yesterday to issue 1000 passports per day and out of those 1,000 passports, 750 will be given in order of arrival and another 250 will be given to applicants from foreign countries.

The department urges the public to apply for passports only for a compelling reason, as this situation will continue till October when the new e-passport is introduced.

In this background, with the intervention of the police, token numbers were given to the people waiting near the main immigration office for the purpose of obtaining new foreign passports, and the passports were issued yesterday.

Accordingly, the people who received the services yesterday spoke happily about it, and they felt that the services provided yesterday were successful.

According to this token system, times are going to be reserved for obtaining new foreign passports in the next few days.
