A stock of explosives in front of the hotel where the President stays

A stock of explosives has been found in a house in front of a hotel in the Perimyankulam area of Anuradhapura, where the President stays when he visits Anuradhapura.

The Anuradhapura Headquarters Police say that the explosive, which was made into a ball of string similar to a hand grenade, is an explosive called a hakkapatas, which is used for hunting animals. Police say that three youths who were in the house were arrested on suspicion in connection with the incident, two of whom are outsiders.

The police also state that further investigations are underway to find out if they are involved in any criminal activity.
