President Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested all political parties to come together to discuss with the International Monetary Fund if there are alternative proposals for the economic crisis Sri Lanka is facing.
He made this request while attending the International Customs Day celebration held today (26) at the Colombo Customs Headquarters.
The President further said that he is ready to invite the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, to visit Sri Lanka for such a crucial discussion.
The President said that the main reason for the collapse of the country’s economy is the politics of promises, and the President asked all political parties to prepare a comprehensive plan for building the country even in this election year.
