A record from spinners in the history of ODI cricket

For the first time in the history of ODI cricket, the first match in which all 50 overs were played using only five spinners was recorded from Bangladesh today (21).

In that match between the visiting West Indies team and the Bangladesh team, the West Indies team had used five spinners to bowl against the Bangladesh team.

Previously, there have been 03 occasions when 44 overs were played using spinners in an ODI cricket match, and all of those matches were played by the Sri Lankan team.

Those matches are the match against the West Indies team in 1996, the match against the New Zealand team in 1998 and the match against the Australian team in 2004.

Accordingly, the match between Bangladesh and West Indies today changed the history of ODI cricket and became the first match to be played with only spin bowlers in all overs.

In this match, Bangladesh scored 213 runs for the loss of 07 wickets.

Soumya Sarkar scored the highest score for Bangladesh with 45 runs while captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 32 runs not out in 58 balls.

In terms of bowling, Gudakesh Moti was the most successful bowler today with three wickets for 65 runs for the West Indies team.

Akhil Hossain and Alik Athanas took two wickets each.

The West Indies team, playing the reply innings, is currently batting.
