A new way to campaign for elections in Sri Lanka from Manusha

New Democratic Front Galle District candidate Manusha Nanayakkara has taken steps to release Sri Lanka’s first election audio leaflet created for political campaigning.

As a candidate of the New Democratic Front for the upcoming parliamentary general election, he is contesting from Galle district under the symbol of gas cylinder. This is a more efficient way to address the voters. The use of this kind of environmentally friendly technology for political propaganda is common in the developed countries of the world, but this is the first time such a thing has been seen in Sri Lanka.

The use of audio leaflet for political campaigning enables people with visual impairments and different literacy levels to be addressed in the same way. Not only that, it can easily distribute its political message and socialize it more efficiently.

Using audio leaflet is an environmentally friendly way to reduce the use of paper. It is also a more creative introduction of the green concept to Sri Lankan politics. Play the video below and listen to the message.
