A new program to regulate drones .

The Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Daminda Rambukwella, says that all drones with commercial value must be registered.

He further said that the Civil Aviation Authority regulates drones into two categories, namely drones carrying people and drones without people. He also said that the regulations issued by the Civil Aviation Authority for the regular operation of such aircraft are scheduled to be implemented from this year.

He further explained that.

“We introduced this two years ago. Actually, there are several categories here. We do not regulate the category from 250 grams to 25 kilograms, and those that fall under the category of toys. There are separate regulations for importing them, and they can be done in accordance with them.”
