Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Namal Karunaratne stated that it has been decided to conduct a wild animal census under the second phase.
“There is a committee in the ministry related to the wild animal census. Accordingly, it has been decided to conduct a wildanimal census under the second phase. The second phase has not yet begun.
Instead of making decisions based on the information obtained in the first phase, the second phase is being moved to the second phase because we need to collect more information and come up with a methodology,” he said.
