The Health Professionals Association has decided to launch a massive strike from the 27th if the decision to cut overtime and holiday allowances that have been received by generations of doctors and nurses for over twenty years is not withdrawn within seven days, said the convener of the association, Ravi Kumudesha.
He further stated that the politicale authoroty have seven days to discuss and reach an agreement on the decision taken in the budget, and that a positive response is expected from the helth minister during that period. In addition, the association is also presenting demands such as the reinstatement of the management training that was scheduled for promotions.
