According to sources, one unit of the Norochchole coal-fired power plant, which adds 270 megawatts to the national grid, has been disabled this morning. In addition, another unit of the three power generation units of the Norochchole coal plant was disabled for maintenance purposes last June.
According to this, the Norochchole coal plant will add only 300 MW to the national grid. However, Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says in a note on his Twitter account that the Electricity Board has guaranteed continuous electricity supply throughout the island.
