Former Governor Ranjith Keerthi Tennakoon has sent a complaint to ITN demanding Rs. 100 million compensation within 14 days for defamation against him in a news program and a morning newspaper program of the ITN.
In the complaint, he has pointed out that the defamatory statements included in a press conference held by Plantation Industries Minister Samantha Vidyarathna were damaged by the news broadcasts on January 9th and the statements made by the presenter of the ‘Pattharen Eha’ program on January 10th.
