A historic T20 tournament win for the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team

The Sri Lanka women’s team has managed to record a historic victory in the T20 series held between the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team and the South Africa women’s team. The third and final match between the two countries was won by the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team by 4 wickets.

Winning the toss, the Sri Lanka women’s team invited the South Africa women’s team to bat first and they scored 155 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

The Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, who played the reply innings, managed to pass their winning target while losing 6 wickets in the 20th over, where the captain Chamari Athapattu scored 73 runs and Harshita Samarawickrama scored 53 runs.

Accordingly, this is the first time in history that the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team has won a tournament against the South African women’s team.
