It is reported that there are preparations to dissolve the Sri Lankan Cricket Board based on the report of the investigation committee appointed to inquire into the incidents and related matters in the 20-20 World Cup held in Australia recently.
The fact that 16 officials went to Australia to watch the World Cup at a high cost, as well as the contradictory statements made by the Sri Lankan cricket officials before the investigation committee have also affected this. An opinion has also been presented that the institution should be completely audit and as a preliminary step for that, it is very likely that the Minister of Sports will decide to dissolve the cricket board , according to ministry sources.
It is reported that the decision has been influenced by the recent failure of the Sri Lankan team as well as the fact that the cricket board has spent nearly seven crores for the Australian tour.
